IATA, Airlines for Europe (A4E) and ERA expressed “deep concern” after the European Parliament’s Transport and Tourism Committee voted to overhaul EU261, warning proposals lacked an impact assessment and could raise ticket prices and undermine route viability.1 The groups also argued the current three hour compensation trigger constrained operational recovery, and criticised proposals on cabin baggage and “extraordinary circumstances” as misaligned with operational realities.1
