Embraer: China transition to consumption driven growth could benefit from regional aviation growth

Embraer China VP sales and marketing Guo Qing stated (01-Nov-2016) China's transition from "an investment- and export-oriented growth model to consumption-driven" growth is a "great sign that would encourage China's rising middle-class to travel more and eventually benefit the regional aviation industry." According to Embraer the existing major hubs at Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu are "already saturated and slot constrained". Embraer believes that to address this issue, second- and third-tier cities with aviation sources such as Wuhan, Changsha, Xiamen and Xi'an should be developed into "regional hubs" to relieve the capacity pressure of the major hubs and improve connectivity.
