Embraer announces Azul as launch carrier for its Embraer 195-E2 programme

Embraer announced (09-Mar-2017) Azul will be the launch carrier for the 195-E2. Azul and Embraer have a contract for up to 50 aircraft, 30 being firm orders and 20 purchase rights. Embraer Commercial Aviation president and CEO John Slattery stated: "Azul played a key role in the E195-E2 development, actively participating in the design specification of the aircraft and helping Embraer design" the aircraft, classifying Embraer's relationship with Azul as one of "trust and partnership".
