Egypt’s aviation sector forecast to show strong growth

Egypt's AVEX International Airshow director Nicolas Watson said the popularity of destinations such as Cairo is contributing to the tourism industry's 15% of GDP (Arabian Business, 01-Nov-2010). Egyptian Airports Company (EAC) reported the number of passengers at Egypt's main airports increased by 5%, compared with 2008.

AVEX International Airshow: "If you look at how Dubai has built itself up as an aviation hub, over the next five years there's going to be a lot of growth in Africa. The main issue is that it's a great destination but they don't have the money right now or the experience in aviation to really maximise economic opportunities." Nicolas Watson, director.
