easyJet faces strike action in Berlin next week
easyJet is facing strike action at Berlin Schoenefled from next week following a vote by pilots and flight attendants demanding a new contract, trade union Verdi announced (AFP, 27-Jun-2011). Strike action was supported by 98% of pilots and 84% of flight attendants, which Verdi said is "another clear and specific signal to employers". The dispute commenced 10 months ago when the union demanded a collective wage agreement for the 350 pilots and flight attendants employed by easyJet in Germany. easyJet staff in Berlin have taken strike action twice this year.
