easyJet appoints new CEO

easyJet appointed (24-Mar-2010) Carolyn McCall, currently Group CEO of the Guardian Media Group, to the position of CEO of the airline, replacing current CEO, Andy Harrison, who will take up the position as Whitbread CEO and is set to depart the LCC in Jun-2010. Ms McCall's joining date will be confirmed in due course. Mr McCall stated her priority will be to "build on easyJet's strengths: a strong consumer proposition, leadership positions in many of Europe's key airports, and an operating model built around simplicity and low cost".
