EASA reports positive safety record for 2009

European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) stated (08-Jan-2010) 2009 was a "good year" for aviation safety. Preliminary data showed that the 31 EASA member states reported the lowest number of fatal accidents on record, with only one fatal A330 accident, compared to an average of five fatal accidents in the past ten years.
