Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum airport to open in 2011

Dubai Airports CEO, Paul Griffiths, announced the passenger terminal at the upcoming Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum International (DWC) at Jebel Ali is expected to be completed by the end of 2010 and open for passenger operations by the end of Mar-2011 with capacity to handle five to seven million passengers p/a (AFP, 04-May-2010). The completion date has been delayed past 2030 when the airport will have capacity to handle 160 million passengers p/a. The airport will open for cargo operations on 27-Jun-2010.
