Dubai pax traffic up 10% in Jan-2011

Dubai Airports reports Dubai International Airport passenger traffic up 9.8% - traffic highlights in Jan-2011:

• Passenger numbers: 4.3 million, +9.8%;
• Aircraft movements: 27,385, +7.3%;
• Air cargo: 178,199 tonnes, +3.9%.

Dubai Airports stated eastern Europe was its fastest-growing region, with traffic up 230% year-on-year. Traffic volumes to/from North America rose 24.9% in the month, Russia and CIS passenger traffic was up 23.3%. CEO Paul Griffiths stated that according to ACI data, Dubai International ranks as the world's fourth busiest airport in terms of international traffic.

Dubai Airports: "We have enjoyed an auspicious start to 2011 and passenger traffic growth is continuing at an impressive rate.
