Viva Macau increases flights for Melbourne, temporarily suspends Sydney

Extra Viva Macau flight to Melbourne replaces Sydney services that will be suspended after 28 March 2010.

Viva Macau Airlines, Macau's international award-winning airline, announced today that it is adding an additional weekly flight between Melbourne and Macau from 28 March 2010. This represents a 50% increase in direct flight capacity between Melbourne and Macau. The additional Melbourne flights come as Viva Macau announced that it will be temporarily suspending flights to Sydney from 28 March 2010.

Dr Reg Macdonald, Viva Macau Airlines CEO said, "We are delighted to be increasing our flights between Melbourne and Macau. Since we commenced in December our flights have been full. It made commercial sense to put additional flights where there is good demand and support."

"While it is disappointing to suspend flights to Sydney, we will maintain peak season flights and will actively monitor the route for recommencement of year-round services. Of course Viva Macau has committed to carrying all passengers that have booked on our Sydney-Macau flights through March 2010. And flights will be available again from December 2010." added Dr Reg Macdonald.

From March, Viva Macau Airlines will operate three flights per week between Melbourne and Macau. Flights will depart Melbourne at 9.15am and land in Macau at 5.00pm. Return flights will depart Macau at 8.15pm and arrive in Melbourne at 8.00am the next day.

To celebrate the additional flights to Melbourne, Viva Macau Airlines is offering special fares from only AUD389 for a one-way Economy Class ticket and AUD799 for a one-way Business Class ticket.
