Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU) today announces plans to further grow its presence in Boston with new daily nonstop service to San Jose, California, beginning May 13, 2010. San Jose will be JetBlue's 34th nonstop destination from Logan International Airport, where the airline already offers service to more nonstop destinations than any other airline -- including daily nonstop flights to the Bay Area's other airports in San Francisco and Oakland.

One-way sale fares for JetBlue's new route begin at just $99(a) each way.

JetBlue's new route connecting two of America's key technology centers will be the only nonstop service between the two cities, complementing the airline's existing nonstop service between San Jose and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport -- the only other nonstop air service between Silicon Valley and the Northeastern United States.

"JetBlue is proud to continue offering more destinations to Bay State and Bay Area customers, and to be the only airline to offer Logan travelers nonstop access to all three Bay Area airports," said Scott Laurence, JetBlue's vice president of route planning. "Wherever you're headed on the West Coast, JetBlue's extensive schedule of service from Boston has you covered."

"By reinstating nonstop San Jose service to Boston Logan International Airport, JetBlue will fly to 34 destinations from Logan and the route gives Logan its 72nd domestic nonstop destination," said Ed Freni, Director of Aviation for the Massachusetts Port Authority. "San Jose was Boston's largest unserved market and this service links the nation's major high tech centers with nonstop service and lets passengers avoid the hassles of hub airports."

JetBlue's new route to San Jose arrives on top of its previously announced plans to grow departures from Boston by more than 30 percent in 2010. Next spring JetBlue intends to add more flights from Boston to key business destinations including Baltimore; Charlotte; Chicago; Denver; Raleigh/Durham, N.C. and San Diego, as well as top sun destinations including Aruba, Cancun, Mexico; Fort Lauderdale, Montego Bay, Jamaica; and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Under its expanded schedule, JetBlue will offer approximately 75 flights per day from Boston.

Overnight flights from San Jose and all West Coast destinations offer JetBlue's complimentary Shut-Eye Service, featuring a Snooze Kit that includes earplugs and eyeshades, plus unlimited free snacks and beverages and a "good morning" hot towel service. Before arrival, customers will be treated to Boston's own Dunkin' Donuts coffee, fruit juice, and bottled spring water, allowing customers to land refreshed and ready to start the day.

JetBlue's new San Jose route will be operated aboard the spacious Airbus A320 which offers travelers premium amenities like unlimited free snacks and drinks, all-leather seating, the most legroom in coach of any U.S. airline (b), 36 channels of free DIRECTV(r) programming, more than 100 channels of XM Satellite Radio (c), and a free first checked bag.
