16-Sep-2009 Wizz Air, the largest low fare – low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, and Lufthansa Technik AG announced that they will extend their cooperation by renewing the Total Component Support TCS® including wheels and brakes support.

The contract was signed by József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air and August Wilhelm Henningsen, Chairman of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Technik. For ten more years Lufthansa Technik will provide component support for Wizz Air's entire fleet that is set to continuously grow from 26 today to 132 Airbus A320s in 2017.

Within the scope of the Total Component Support TCS®-product, Lufthansa Technik's experts will take care of all aspects of supplying Wizz Air's fleet with components from writing the specifications, initial provisioning studies, home base allocation to repair and overhaul of components. The new contract also provides for the continuation of the wheels and brakes support of the Wizz Air fleet from Lufthansa Technik's Frankfurt base.

"Lufthansa Technik has been an integral part of our success from the very beginning. Its high quality services are indispensable to maintain our operational reliability and safety standards at their maximum. We are delighted to renew our cooperation," said József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air.

"We are honored that Wizz Air has again chosen our Total Component Support TCS®," stated August Wilhelm Henningsen, Chairman of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Technik. "Alongside with the wheels and brakes support, I am sure that our component services will justify Wizz Air's trust in Lufthansa Technik with outstanding reliability. Furthermore, our services will give Wizz Air the full flexibility it needs for its ambitious fleet expansion plans."

The recently signed agreement carries forward a long and successful business relationship between Wizz Air and Lufthansa Technik that dates back to the very beginning of the carrier's operations in 2004. Besides the support with components, wheels and brakes, Lufthansa Technik is also providing engineering services for the entire Wizz Air fleet as well as line maintenance at its Hungarian subsidiary Lufthansa Technik Budapest.
