Diehl Aviation SVP product innovation and digitalisation Carsten Laufs said it designed more modular cabin monuments and developed onboard water reuse concepts to improve lightness, sustainability, cost and manufacturability, while testing a grey water reuse system with a claimed saving of up to 250 litres of potable water on long haul flights.1 Clean Aviation said the Clean Sky 2 HYGIEIA consortium applied an antimicrobial coating to an aircraft grey water container to support Diehl Aviation’s grey water reuse system testing, cutting water needs by up to 20%-30% depending on loading.2
