Denver International Airport reports busiest April with 4.4m pax in Apr-2016

Denver International Airport passenger numbers up 4% - traffic highlights for Apr-2016:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.4 million, +3.6% year-on-year;
  • Cargo volume: 18,941 tonnes, -8.0%;
    • Freight and Express: 17,899 tonnes, -2.8%;
    • Mail: 1043 tonnes, -51.9%;

DIA CEO Kim Day said: "Denver International Airport has entered the busy summer travel season with eight consecutive months of record-setting passenger traffic, led by increases in airline seat capacity and a continued strong demand for travel to and from Denver. We also continue to see carriers add new destinations. In April, United Airlines' began nonstop service to Richmond, Va., a previously unserved destination from DEN, as well as new service to Hartford, Conn - with other carriers adding even more destinations later this month."
