Denmark Government open to selling stake in SAS Group
Denmark's Minister of Economic and Business Affairs, Brian Mikkelsen, stated the Danish Government is open to consider a sale of its stake in SAS Group (dpa/Politiken, 27-Apr-2010). Mr Mikkelsen did not say when a possible sale would take place and noted that the airline needed to pull through the global economic crisis prior to a decision on the matter. SAS is owned by Sweden, Denmark and Norway, with stakes of 21.4%, 14.3% and 14.3%, respectively.
Danish Government: "I have no hesitation concerning the sale of SAS. We have to consider that when the financial crisis has come to an end. We have use for the money to fund the welfare state. And we can see that private businesses around the world have been better than SAS in many areas," Brian Mikkelsen, Minister of Economic and Business Affairs. Source: dpa/Polikiken, 27-Apr-2010.
