Delta Air Lines to focus on bringing fuel savings to 'bottom line'

Delta Air Lines stated (03-Mar-2015) the aviation industry has reported "modest" economic growth globally, with continuing international headwinds from weakening curries and Asian capacity growth in excess of demand. The carrier aims to focus on bringing its fuel savings to "the bottom line", with net fuel benefits of USD1.8 billion for 2015 at current fuel prices. Delta plans to expand its margins further through "top line growth", lower fuel cots, and continued non-fuel cost productivity. Delta said upgauging and other cost initiatives will keep non-fuel cost growth below 2%, while cash flow generation enables improved capital returns. [more - original PR]
