Delta Air Lines pax numbers and load factors up in Jan-2012, PRASM up 14.5%

Delta Air Lines reports (06-Feb-2012) the following traffic highlights in Jan-2012:

  • Passenger numbers: 11.6 million, +0.6% year-on-year;
  • Revenue passenger miles: -1.5%;
  • Passenger load factor: 77.5%, +2.3 ppts;
    • Domestic: 77.3%, +2.4 ppts;
    • International: 77.8%, +2.0 ppts;
    • Latin America: 80.6%, +2.1 ppts;
    • Europe: 74.2%, +4.3 ppts;

Delta Air Lines: “For January 2012, consolidated passenger unit revenue (PRASM) increased 14.5% compared to the prior year period, as the company's capacity discipline and revenue momentum contributed to a strong increase in yields.
