Seoul Incheon’s International Remote Baggage Screening (IRBS) programme took effect on 13-Aug-2025 for Seoul Incheon-Atlanta, enabling US Customs and Border Protection to review transmitted X-ray images in flight and removing the need to reclaim and re-check bags on arrival1. Smiths Detection supported IRBS implementation at Incheon T2 in Aug-2025, with expansion expected to cover Minneapolis, Seattle, Los Angeles, Detroit and Salt Lake City2. Incheon later extended the baggage transfer programme to Detroit and Minneapolis, cutting transfers by at least 20 minutes3.
