Delta Air Lines CEO: 'No interest' in selling, monetising investments in international partners

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian reported (22-Apr-2020) the carrier has "no interest" in selling or monetising its investments in international partners "at this point or anytime in the future". He noted the carrier will work with these partners "as the recovery takes hold", with the expectation that recovery will "slower internationally than domestically". Mr Bastian also commented that Delta is "not in a position to be making any financial commitments to any" of its partners, as they "are aware". Some international airlines may be nationalised while some others will "go through administrative and bankruptcy processes", he warned. "And as a result of that, we're going to stay really close to our partners and help provide them the - not the financial support, but certainly the commercial support and the strategic savvy to navigate a very uncertain recovery", he stated.
