Dakar Blaise Diagne Airport traffic down 52%, continued investments planned to enhance service
Dakar Blaise Diagne International Airport, via its official Facebook account, reported (07-Dec-2020) traffic is at approximately 48% of 2019 levels, as at Dec-2020. Dakar Airport director general Xavier Mary said operations were "difficult" but noted many airports in the region had not achieved this level of recovery. Mr Mary outlined a number of plans to invest in quality of service and enhancing the airport's standards, including a solar power plant and other environmental initiatives. As previously reported by CAPA, the airport opened a VIP departure lounge on 07-Dec-2020 and announced plans to develop a second VIP lounge as well as a new food service offering.
