Copenhagen Airport launches EUR174.9m investment package to reduce airline costs in the short term

Copenhagen Airports A/S launched (01-Mar-2017) a DKK1.3 billion (EUR174.9 million) investment package to reduce airline costs at Copenhagen Kastrup Airport. The package includes:

  • DKK200 million (EUR26.9 million) to accelerate the facility's construction project, in order to quicken adoption of new capacity;
  • DKK500 million (EUR67.3 million) in operational optimisation projects;
  • DKK20 million (EUR2.7 million) in a domestic route marketing push. The airport also plans to initiate dialogue with regulators on reducing tariffs on domestic services;
  • DKK300 million (EUR40.4 million) in shifting the airport's runway cross section, which is slated for removal in the future.

Copenhagen Airports A/S CEO Thomas Woldbye noted the airport rolled out Expanding CPH, a separate DKK20 billion (EUR2.7 billion) project in 2016. Mr Woldbye stated the new investment package is, "About how we in the short term will make CPH even more attractive and effective".
