Copa Holdings could 'pull out capacity if it's good for our bottom line'

Copa Airlines CEO Pedro Heilbron, speaking on Copa Holdings' 1Q2018 financial results call, commented (11-May-2018) on strategies for dealing with the spike in fuel prices, stating: "We are always willing to pull out capacity if it's good for our bottom line… We don't think that will be necessary this year". He added: "Demand is still looking quite strong. But we're not sure if on the short term we're going to make up for the spike in fuel prices… We don't think right now that pulling back capacity will make our bottom line any better".
