Continental pax up 1.6%, RASM up

Continental Airlines passenger numbers up 1.6% - consolidated traffic highlights in May-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 5.3 million, +1.6% year-on-year;
  • Passenger traffic (RPMs): +3.7%;
  • Passenger load factor: 83.8%, +2.9 ppts;
    • Domestic: 85.4%, +0.7 ppt;
    • International: 82.9%, +4.9 ppts;
  • Revenue per ASM: +23.0% to +24.0%;
    • Mainline: +22.5%, to +23.5%. [more]

Continental Airlines: "For May 2010, consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (RASM) is estimated to have increased between 23.0% and 24.0% compared to May 2009, while mainline RASM is estimated to have increased between 22.5% and 23.5%. For April 2010, consolidated passenger RASM increased 14.8% compared to April 2009, while mainline passenger RASM increased 12.6% compared to April 2009," Company statement.
