Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency previously completed significant modernisation and expansion works at Santa Marta Simón Bolívar International Airport, including a terminal extension from 6271sqm to 15,413sqm and increased handling capacity to 2.6 million passengers per annum, with a project budget of COP109.5 billion and scheduled completion in early 20181 2. Aeropuertos de Oriente also installed additional air conditioning units to enhance passenger comfort3.
