Chongqing Airport handles 20 millionth pax for the year

China's Chongqing Airport handled its 20 millionth passenger for the year on 27-Nov-2012, becoming the ninth airport in China to handle more than 20 million passengers p/a, according to a China Civil Aviation Online report. The airport stated its annual passenger numbers have doubled over the past five years from 10 million passengers in 2007. Chongqing Airport is currently constructing a third terminal and runway, and once completed will increase the airport's capacity to 45 million passengers, 1.1 million tonnes of cargo and 370,000 aircraft movements by 2015.
