China's domestic trade expected to grow to USD2 trillion in 2010

International Trade Representative of China Deputy, Chong Quan, stated China's broad market and potential for development will see its domestic market grow to USD2 trillion this year, exceeding the country's total exports (Xinhua, 06-Sep-2010). Mr Chong added China will continue to open its market progressively, take active measures to expand imports and exports and promote more balanced international trade. China's retail sales reached USD840 billion in 2009 and a trade surplus of USD83.9 billion in the seven months to 31-Jul-2010.
