China's big three considering LCC subsidiaries: report

China's "big three" airlines Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines are reportedly considering establishing a LCC subsidiary (Beijing Business Today, 25-Jul-2011). Air China and China Eastern have not confirmed nor denied the reports but have separately stated LCCs are a major trend in the industry at the moment. China's biggest LCC, Spring Airlines, Chairman Wang Zhenghua stated even if the big three carriers set up LCCs, it will not have any major impact on Spring.
