China to cut airport waiting time

CAAC Director General Li Jiaxiang stated that in response to the threat of China's developing high-speed rail network, measures will be taken to shorten the time that passengers spend at airports on security checks and check-in, which will improve punctuality (China Economic Net, 18-Apr-2011). Mr Li previously stated flights between Beijing and Shanghai will not be cancelled when the high-speed rail link between the cities opens in Jun-2011.
