China Southern opens reservations on Guangzhou-Los Angeles A380 service

China Southern Airlines confirmed (27-Jul-2012) plans to deploy A380 equipment on daily Guangzhou-Los Angeles sector from 12-Oct-2012, marking the carrier’s first international route with the A380 – see Route Changes Table for more information. Reservation for the service opened on 26-Jul-2012. As previously reported, the A380 operation will replace current Boeing 777-200ER service and will increase the carrier’s one-way capacity on the sector by close to 80%. The airline was the first carrier to operate 777 aircraft on Trans-Pacific services in Sep-1997 when it launched the route and is currently the sole operator on the route, according to Innovata. According to China Southern, load factor on the sector averaged more than 90% in Jul-2012. [more – original PR – Chinese]
