China Southern interested in acquiring 65% stake in Shenzhen Airlines

China Southern Airlines reportedly plans to acquire a 65% stake in Shenzhen Airlines as part of efforts to strengthen its position in Southern China (ifeng.com, 08-Jan-2010). The carrier has reportedly already expressed interest in the holding, which was formerly held by Li Zeyuan, who was arrested in Nov-2009. Air China is also interested in the stake.
