China raises jet fuel prices; Airlines to resume domestic fuel surcharges

China's National Development and Reform Commission raised gasoline, diesel and jet fuel prices by as much as 8%, the first increase in more than two months (Bloomberg, 10-Nov-2009). China’s airlines will resume fuel surcharges on domestic services after the price increase, the commission stated.  

National Development and Reform Commission: “The fuel price adjustment will encourage refineries to boost production and guarantee domestic supply,” the commission said in the statement. “It will also help energy conservation and reduce emissions,” Company Statement.
