China expecting 18% increase in air travel during National Day Holiday

China's Ministry of Transport stated it expects China's civil aviation, road, railway and waterway transport sectors to carry a record 565 million people during the National Day holiday (01-08-Oct-2009) (Xinhua, 28-Sep-2009). CAAC has forecast approximately 5.9 million air journeys will be made over the holiday period, an 18% year-on-year increase.
