China Eastern anticipating break-even result in 2010; seeking further capital to reduce debt ratios

China Eastern Airlines Chairman, Liu Shaoyong, stated the airline aims to report a break even result in 2010, with the carrier forecasting an annual net profit for 2009 after a record loss in 2008 (Bloomberg, 10-Mar-2010). Mr Liu added that the carrier is still "actively" seeking strategic investors and "financial investors," as it seeks further capital injections to reduce its debt-to-asset ratio.
