China aviation reports USD253m profit in May-2010

CAAC reported the country's aviation sector remained profitable in May-2010 with a profit of CNY1,730 million (Carnoc.com, 18-Jun-2010). Details are as follows:

• Total profit*: USD253.3 million;
  • Airline: USD180.1 million;
  • Airports: USD58.6 million;
  • Others: USD14.6 million;
• Passenger numbers: 21.5 million, +18.2%;
• Cargo volume: 467,300 tonnes, +36.0%;
• Aircraft utilisation rate: 9.3 hours, +0.3 hour.
