China Airlines loss widens in 1Q2012

China Airlines revenue up 2% - consolidated financial highlights for three months ended 31-Mar-2012:

  • Operating revenue: TWD32,083 million (USD1085 million), +1.7% year-on-year;
  • Operating costs: TWD30,861 million (USD1044 million), +4.4%;
  • Operating expenses: TWD2180 million (USD73.7 million), +0.9%;
  • Operating profit (loss): (TWD958.1 million) (USD32.4 million), compared to a loss of TWD164.6 million (USD5.6 million) in p-c-p;
  • Net profit (loss): (TWD940.3 million) (USD31.8 million), compared to a loss of TWD379.1 million (USD12.8 million) in p-c-p;
  • Total assets: TWD205,124 million (USD6937 million), +1.5% when compared to period ended 31-Dec-2011
  • Cash and cash equivalents: TWD14,316 million (USD484.2 million), +44.5% when compared to period ended 31-Dec-2011;
  • Total liabilities: TWD153,117 million (USD5178 million), -0.1% when compared to period ended 31-Dec-2011.
