Cathay to order 15 freighters for 2013-2018

Cathay Pacific cargo general manager Nick Rhodes stated the carrier is planning to order around 15 freighter aircraft to meet cargo demand between 2013 and 2018 (Cargo News Asia/South China Morning Post, 15-Jun-2011). An order could be confirmed as early as Jul-2011. Mr Rhodes stated the carrier is in negotiations with both Airbus and Boeing, with the A330F, B777F and B747-8F being considered. Mr Rhodes said it would be up to the aircraft manufacturers to see "what they can do" in terms of delivery, price and their ability to meet the carrier's requirements.
