Cathay Pacific to increase capacity by 13% in 2012

Cathay Pacific announced its capacity (ASKs) will increase by 13% year-on-year while its cargo capacity (ATKs) will increase 17% in 2012, adding it expects cargo demand to continue to decline, according to a China News report.

The carrier reported a 9.3% increase in ASKs and an 8.6% increase in ATKs in the first 10 months of 2011. Cathay stated it is seeing increases in demand for its first and business class premium traffic but the uncertainties in the global economy are adding to concerns going forth into next year.
