Cathay Pacific to increase Air China stake "when the time is right": COO

Cathay Pacific COO, John Slosar, stated the carrier plans to raise its stake in Air China "when the time is right" (CNBC Asia, 25-Feb-2010). Cathay currently owns 18% of Air China. Mr Slosar added that he expects the Cathay/Air China cargo JV to be operational by mid-year, adding that the airline will "make all the necessary applications that [it] needs to get this venture through safely".

Cathay Pacific: "It is certainly on the cards [raising Cathay's stake in Air China]. There are no restrictions on how and when we could do that. And when the time is right, when the business is good, we will certainly look at doing that," John Slosar, COO. Source: CNBC Asia, 25-Feb-2010.
