Koala Airlines planned to commence operations in late 2026 with three leased Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and intended to offer feeder services for foreign tourists to Australian destinations beyond Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. The carrier aimed for a balanced, sustainable business model and was not positioning itself as a low fare airline. Its CEO stated the operation would differ fundamentally from established carriers such as Qantas or Virgin Australia1 2.
