Background

Australia's Minister for Infrastructure Catherine King confirmed Sydney-wide flight path changes authorised in Jun-2025 were scheduled to take effect on 09-Jul-2026, supported by three years of community engagement and an Airservices Australia awareness programme in 2H2025, and including a new digital aerodrome service at Western Sydney International Airport.1 CASA also consulted on introducing new Class D controlled airspace and revised VFR routes around Sydney Bankstown Airport, with feedback due by 17-Jun-2026.2
