Caribbean Airlines is reportedly close to acquiring Air Jamaica

Caribbean Airlines is reportedly close to acquiring Air Jamaica in a deal involving the governments of Jamaica and Trinidad (radiojamica.com, 13-Jan-2010). Under the agreement the more than 1,200 Air Jamaica staff will be retained, but network restructuring will result in the suspension of at least three loss-making routes.
