Canadian consumer prices rise 0.1% in Aug-2010; transportation index down 0.3%

Statistics Canada stated (21-Sep-2010) consumer prices rose 1.7% in the 12 months to Aug-2010, following a 1.8% increase in Jul-2010. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.1% in Aug-2010, following a 0.6% increase in Jul-2010. The transportation index fell 0.3%.
