Calgary Airport Authority welcomes Government decision not to privatise

Calgary Airport Authority welcomed (22-Mar-2017) the Government of Canada's decision to refrain from privatising the country's main airports, outlined in the 2017 federal budget. Airport Authority president and CEO Bob Sartor said he is "very pleased" with the government's decision, and confirmed the organisation will continue to "keep the discussion alive" with the government, to ensure the best interests of passengers and communities are protected. The federal government has been exploring privatisation options for Canada's main airports since 2016.
