CAE signs cadet pilot training programme with Southwest Airlines

CAE announced (01-Aug-2019) a 10 year cadet pilot training programme with Southwest Airlines. CAE will train more than 700 new pilots at its Phoenix aviation academy as part of Southwest's 'Destination 225°' programme, with cadets selected by Southwest to commence US FAA pilot licensing ground school and CAE flight training from Jan-2020. Pilots will be able to gain FAA ATP certification by accumulating 1500 hours as flight instructors at CAE Phoenix or by applying for first officer positions with 'Destination 225°' partners XOJET Aviation and Jet Linx.
