CAAC reports pax up 18%, 20% jump in fixed-asset investment 1H2010

CAAC reported the following traffic highlights for the six months ended 30-Jun-2010 (Xinhua, 13-Jul-2010):

• Passenger numbers: 126 million, 17.6% year-on-year;
• Cargo volume: 2.6 million tonnes, +38.6%.

Meanwhile, CAAC Director, Li Jiaxiang, stated the civil aviation industry completed a fixed-asset investment of CNY17 billion (USD2.5 billion) during the period, an increase of 19.7% year-on-year. Mr Li added China's aviation industry added a total of 90 aircraft during the period, for a net increase of 14,700 seat capacity, up 30.7% year-on-year.
