CAAC notes industry achievements in 1H2013, pax reach 170 million and cargo reach 2.6 million tonnes

CAAC announced (10-Jul-2013), at the 2013 mid-year conference on civil aviation, that China's aviation industry achieved 3.3 million flying hours, up 10.7% year-on-year, and handled 1.5 million aircraft movements, up 10.3%, in the first six months of 2013. Passenger numbers increased 11% to 170 million and cargo volume increased 3% to 2.6 million tonnes. By the end of Jun-2013, China had 2035 commercial aircraft, 94 more than in 1H2012, investment in fixed assets reached CNY23 billion (USD3.6 billion), while six airport projects were completed in 1H2013 and nine more were launched.
