CAAC: Chinese carrier Aug-2012 profit down 17%

CAAC stated Chinese carriers reported a 17% year-on-year decline in profits to CNY5830 million (USD910.9 million) in Aug-2012, as reported by Yicai, The profit level is also a 8.9% decline when compared to the CNY6400 million (USD1000 million) reported in Jul-2012. Chinese carriers also reported a 7% increase in operating revenue to CNY39.0 billion (USD6.1 billion) in Aug-2012 on the back of an 11.3% increase in passenger numbers to 30.7 million and a 0.1% increase in cargo volume to 455,600 tones.
