Budapest Airport completes BUD Cargo City project
Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport announced (21-Nov-2019) the completion of works for the EUR50 million BUD Cargo City project. The logistics complex features a 21,200sqm warehouse and office facility and an 11,650sqm forwarder building, which will be occupied by tenants from Jan-2020. The facility's 32,000sqm aircraft apron can accommodate two Boeing 747-8F aircraft simultaneously. The site is already home to 35 tenants, including forwarders, airlines, security providers and the customs authority. Once commissioned, the BUD Cargo City will increase Budapest Airport's cargo handling capacity to 250,000 tons p/a and is expected to support the airport's aim to become "the cargo gateway of Central and Eastern Europe".
