Budapest Airport announces tender for construction of a new pier
Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport announced (02-May-2016) an EUR16.9 million tender has been published for the construction of a new pier connected to T2. 10,000sqm will be added to the passenger terminal and physical construction is expected to commence in Jan-2017, with the pier scheduled for completion by mid-2018. The pier is designed to cater to the increased demand in stands for widebody aircraft and contains 27 gates and 10 aerobridges. Budapest Airport CEO Jost Lammers said "passenger traffic growth experienced at Budapest Airport as well as the expected forecasts for the years ahead encourages us to bring forward capacity development projects".
