Brisbane Airport reports 3.1% fall in int'l pax in Jul-2009

Australia’s Brisbane Airport reports (11-Aug-09) the following traffic highlights in Jul-2009:

• Passenger numbers:
  • Domestic: 1.3 million, +0.9% year-on-year;
  • International: 369,278, -3.1%.

Brisbane Airport: “July 2008 was an exceptional month, as a result of the World Youth Day “pilgrims” passing through the terminal, enroute to and/or returning from Sydney. Daily passenger numbers fell below 10,000 just once last month, on 29-Jul-2009. Jul-2009 domestic passenger numbers at BNE increased slightly compared with Jul-2008…The first half of the month was busier than the latter, coinciding with Queensland school holidays,” Company statement.
